On June 1st, AMS expanded into high-rise management through a merger agreement with BPM Management (BPM), leaders in luxury mid- to high-rise association management in the greater Portland-metro area. This merge now places AMS as the largest association management company in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
“Clients on both sides of the company will see benefits as a result of this merger,” says Carmen Villarma, founder of AMS and President of the TMG Family of Companies, of which AMS is a division. “Former BPM clients will experience more robust accounting, IT, and HR support, while AMS mid-rise clients will gain Association Business Managers that are more knowledgeable in managing high-rise buildings. We are stronger, more productive, and more efficient together,” says Villarma.

Vancouver, WA (June 1, 2022) – AMS | Association Management Services NW (AMS), the top association management company in the Pacific Northwest, and BPM Management (BPM), leaders in luxury mid- to high-rise association management in the greater Portland-metro area, announced a merger agreement today, forming the largest association management company in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
The combination of AMS and BPM joins two diverse portfolios with previously independent association management services. Since 1985, AMS has served community associations in both Oregon and Southwest Washington, focusing primarily on single family neighborhoods, low- to mid-rise condominiums, and townhome communities. BPM Management, which largely serves luxury, mid- to high-rise condominium associations in the Portland, Oregon metro area, was established in 2006 as a division of Bowen Property Management Company (founded in 1977), and branched off as a separate company in 2010. Combined, AMS and BPM form a powerhouse management company that can meet the needs of every homeowner association in the region.
“I wanted to align BPM with a company that has a good business ethic and could bring better processes and efficiencies to our clients,” says Susan West, former Chief Operating Officer for BPM. “I also wanted to offer my team an opportunity to continue to grow in their careers and AMS has a great program in place for employees to grow.“
As part of the merger, West has been appointed Vice President, High-Rise Division for AMS. Existing employees from BPM were also invited to transition with the company, nearly doubling the employee count for AMS.
The integration of both companies will take place over the next six months. Under this agreement, BPM will begin to transition into a new high-rise division of AMS. For the time being, AMS and BPM will retain their separate offices in Portland, OR, with the goal of combining offices in a more central location by the end of the year.
