Hillsboro is a vibrant city and the largest city in Washington County. It’s part of the “Silicon Forest” and home to some of technology’s biggest and brightest names, including Nvidia, Hitachi, Salesforce, Radisys, Cascade Systems Technology, and more. Lying in the Tualatin Valley and located on the west side of the Portland Metro area, it’s also a short trip away from the Gorge, Crater Lake, Mt. Hood, Oregon Coast, and the Columbia River. Hillsboro is one of the more affordable suburbs in the Portland Metro area and it’s got great neighborhoods like the Orenco Station, Tanasbourne, Amber Glen, Arbor Rose, and so many others.
There is never a shortage of things to do or places to visit in Hillsboro. Hillsboro is, as they say, where beer, birds, baseball, farms, and technology meet. There is plenty of green space with playgrounds, dog parks, sports facilities, picnic shelters, and walking trails. Rood Bridge Park is delightful for walking, group picnics, cycling, and hiking. Jackson Wetlands Preserve is great for nature walks and features gazebos, ponds, and bird-watching spots. 53rd Avenue Community Park is a modern park with play areas and a large soccer field. Definitely visit Bald Peak State Park in Hillsboro. It offers great views of the Tualatin Valley and picturesque spots great for hiking with families and friends.
Hillsboro is also home to some exemplary restaurants in a variety of cuisines.
